Starbucks is located on the first floor behind the hospital cafeteria. Hours of operation are 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Vending machines can be found throughout the hospital. Machines found near the cafeteria offer a wide variety of beverages, snacks and sandwiches.
Wall Street Deli, sponsored by the University Hospital Auxiliary, is located on the ground floor past the gift shop, near the elevators. It is open daily 7 a.m.- 8 p.m. and offers a variety of deli sandwiches, soups and a salad bar. Proceeds from the deli are donated to the hospital.

University Hospital provides affordable, comfortable accommodations at The Holmes on Eden, located in the Holmes Building for its patients and out-of-town or local family members who would like to remain near while a loved one is in the hospital. University Hospital offers free or low-cost parking for all patients and visitors in Goodman Garage, located off of Highland Ave. Visitors and patients who have oversized vehicles can park in Holmes lot 15, at the corner of Eden Avenue and Albert Sabin Way. Below is information on hours, rates and how to get your parking ticket discounted.
Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.
Get your ticket validated.
If you exit Goodman Garage during regular hours, you will be charged a maximum of $2 for parking if your ticket is validated (patients and visitors only). To get your parking ticket validated, have it stamped at the main lobby information desk, the emergency department front desk or at your caregiver’s office.
Monday – Thursday: 10:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
Friday: 10:30 p.m. – midnight
Get a token note.
If you exit Goodman Garage during closed hours, you will not be charged if you have a token note (patients and visitors only). Token notes are available at the main lobby information desk and the emergency department front desk. If you do not have a token note during closed hours, you will need to deposit $5 in the coin unit to exit the garage. The coin unit accepts $1, $5, $10 and $20 bills. The cashier’s office in the hospital can give change Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You cannot use your stamped ticket to exit the garage during these hours because there is no attendant on duty.
Weekends (Friday at midnight to Monday at 5:30 a.m.) and holidays recognized by the hospital.
If you exit Goodman Garage during weekend hours and hospital-recognized holidays, you do not have to pay or use token notes. The exit gate will automatically go up when you approach it slowly with your car during these hours.
For your convenience, the hospital provides valet parking for special needs patients and visitors. Valet parking is available from Monday – Friday, 8:30 to 5 p.m. (excluding holidays) and is accessible at the hospital’s main entrance on Bellevue Avenue. Cost is $3.

The University Hospital shuttle runs Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., round trips beginning every 15 minutes. All trips begin at the main hospital entrance. Stops include The Barrett Center, Medical Arts Building, Holmes, MRI, Main Outpatient Building, Ambulatory entrance and the Hoxworth Center. Click here to see a map.

Sign and Foreign Language interpreters provide hearing impaired and limited English proficient (LEP) patients interpreting services for medical treatment and care. Spoken language interpreters cover the following languages: Arabic, Bambara, Chinese Mandarin, French, Fulani, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. Interpreters for other languages can be arranged by calling the Interpreter department. Interpreters are accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
For deaf and hard of hearing patients, we offer TTY’s, light signalers, baby cry signalers, pillow vibrators, and close captioning on TVs. For LEP patients, we offer two channels of Spanish TV with the option of Spanish Captioning and double-hook phones for ease of communication with providers.
