The University Hospital Center for Hyperbaric Medicine is the most experienced hyperbaric facility in the Tristate area, opening its doors for the first patient treatment in 1987. Since that time, we have expanded our services to include three new Sechrist hyperbaric oxygen chambers and a full staff of doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists and a nurse case manager. Our staff is the most highly trained hyperbaric team in Greater Cincinnati.
The Center can accommodate at least 12 patients per day. Patients are treated for disorders ranging from radiation injury (such as radiation cystis and osteoradionecrosis of the mandible) to wound problems (such as failing grafts & flaps) to chronic osteomyelitis and carbon monoxide poisoning. We are the only hyperbaric center in the area equipped to handle emergency cases.
We offer:

- physician leaders in the field of hyperbaric medicine, including the area’s only Board Certified Hyperbaric Medicine physician
- new state-of-the-art hyperbaric oxygen chambers
- a dedicated staff of nurses and respiratory therapists specially trained in hyperbaric medicine
- a full range of outpatient services, including hyperbaric medicine for chronic wound patients
- 24-hour accessibility for emergency cases
- contact with referring physicians on an ongoing basis, including full documentation of treatment and progress
- expedited process for insurance approval by our nurse case manager (The Center participates in the same insurance and managed care plans as the hospital)
- ongoing clinical research in the field of hyperbaric medicine.
