The University Hospital's Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program provides outpatient and inpatient comprehensive care for cystic fibrosis patients, ages 16 and older.

Locally and nationally acknowledged for its success in improving the longevity and vitality of cystic fibrosis patients, the Cystic Fibrosis Program uses a multidisciplinary approach to treating cystic fibrosis. To meet all the needs of patients and to explore all aspects of the disease, a team of physicians, registered nurses, dietitians and psychologists offer each patient a variety of services. These services include respiratory therapy, physical therapy, social services, psychology and dietary services. Specialists in other areas are also available for consultation.

The University Hospital maintains state-of-the-art equipment and full hospital laboratory support to provide patients with the highest quality care. Inpatient care is enhanced by the hospital's Critical Care Pavilion and the Medical Step Down Unit. For outpatient care, the Cystic Fibrosis Program will arrange home IV therapy and support services for patients.
