About University Hospital
University Hospital, in affiliation with the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, has an international reputation for providing extraordinary patient care combined with the latest advances in research. The tradition of excellence consistently places it among the nation’s best in the prestigious U.S.News & World Report’s annual guide to “America’s Best Hospitals.”
Opening in 1823, the hospital had a mission to provide care for the aged, indigent and orphaned. Today, this mission continues. Thousands of people, in the region and from around the world, travel to University Hospital in Cincinnati to receive care from world-renowned physicians in cutting edge patient care programs.
University Hospital, part of The Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati, has the area’s only adult Level 1 Trauma Center for the most critically ill and injured patients, as well as the Tristate’s only medical helicopter service, University Air
Care. Other specialty patient care programs available at University Hospital include:
- Adult Burn Center
- The Neuroscience Institute
- Barrett Cancer Center
- Solid Organ Transplant Center including heart, liver, kidney and pancreas
- Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program
- Psychiatric Emergency Services
- Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
